Convoo started in 2023 in a small flat in Cavtat, between the cathedral and the bus stop, with a single complaint: every Croatia travel page on the internet had been written by someone who'd never been there twice. We started writing the guide we wished we'd had when we first moved here.
Local first
Every guide is written by an editor who lives in Croatia or returns at least quarterly. No remote rewrites of competitors' content.
No paid placements
We don't take money to feature hotels, tours, or restaurants. If we recommend it, it's because we'd send our family there.
Quietly updated
Opening times, ferry timetables, and prices are checked every season. Each page shows when it was last verified.
Editorial standards
How we report.
Every destination guide on Convoo starts with at least three on-the-ground visits across two seasons. Restaurants are visited unannounced and paid for in full. Hotels are inspected, never just sourced from press releases.
We name our writers. We date our updates. We correct mistakes openly, if you spot one, the contact form goes straight to our editors, not a chatbot.
We're a small team: three full-time editors, six freelance contributors, one cat. We answer email within 48 hours and we always sign with a real name.
